Software Engineering Manager - FinTech | Remote Canada

We're working with a well-funded, high-growth FinTech startup building next-gen payment infrastructure used by millions of users globally. Their technology powers some of the biggest names in iGaming and sports betting, processing billions in volume annually.
They're on the hunt for a Software Engineering Manager to guide a small team of talented engineers, drive new development in Go, and help scale their mission-critical backend systems.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leading & mentoring a team of 4-5 engineers, focusing on architecture, performance, and team growth.
Driving greenfield development of high-performance financial services using Golang.
Maintaining and optimizing existing Java systems to ensure scale, security, and speed.
Architecting cloud- solutions using AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, and microservices.
Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, DevOps, and Security teams.
Enforcing high standards via CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
What They're Looking For:
Experience leading software engineers in a fast-paced environment.
Strong backend development skills in Go and Java.
Track record of designing scalable, high-availability systems.
Familiarity with AWS, containerization, and microservices.
A passion for technical mentorship and hands-on architecture.
Compensation & Perks:
$200 base + 10% bonus
5 weeks vacation + full benefits + RRSP matching
100% remote across Canada (MUST LIVE IN GTA)
