General Description of Duties
  1. Support curriculum delivery and information literacy by assisting patrons with print and electronic resources.
  2. Maintain physical collections, shelve materials, and ensure shelf order.
  3. Facilitate book exchanges, literacy initiatives, and provide reading support to groups and classrooms.
  4. Provide orientation and training to students and staff, and promote library services through web pages and newsletters.
  5. Manage the library budget, select materials based on Board guidelines, and coordinate with school administration.
  6. Send overdue notices and develop library collections aligned with school needs and policies.
  7. Catalog and circulate library materials using automated systems.
  8. Maintain AV equipment, provide setup, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
  9. Promote library services and literacy activities within the school community.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Completion of the Library and Information Technician Diploma.
  2. One to two years of experience working with children in a library setting.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office and library management software.
  4. Understanding of cataloguing and inventory processes.
  5. Excellent communication skills and sound judgment.
  6. Ability to plan, multitask, and prioritize work.
Additional Details
  • Hourly Rate: $30.86 to $32.48
  • Part-time, 17.5 hours/week, approximately 42 weeks/year
  • Work schedule determined by the administrator
