South Country Co-op is hiring an Agro Driver at our Agro Centre in Cypress County, Alberta.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering excellent customer service and operating semi and pup trailers, loaders.
- Meeting customers and loading/unloading Anhydrous Ammonia (NH3) and Agro products.
- Ensuring safe operation of the vehicle, conducting pre-trip inspections, and reporting discrepancies.
- Maintaining trucks and filling out daily logs.
- Communicating sales and promotion programs to customers.
- Representing South Country Co-op professionally and adhering to safety policies.
- Performing warehouse duties such as pricing, stocking, inventory, shipping/receiving, and housekeeping.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving abstract.
- Minimum 1 year of Class 1 driving experience and 2-3 years transporting dangerous goods.
- Knowledge of TDG and WHMIS regulations.
- Ability to work independently and operate a manual transmission.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods training (training provided).
- Experience with NH3 transport preferred but not essential.
- Understanding of load properties, hoses, couplings, and handling requirements.
- Ability to operate in various environments, including hazardous and non-industrial areas.
- Computer skills, map reading, and GPS usage.
- Physical ability to lift over 55 lbs and work at heights.
- Strong safety commitment and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
- Availability Monday to Friday, evenings, and weekends.
- Up to 75% driving time.
- Work at heights, in all weather conditions, and in noisy/dusty environments.
- Handling Anhydrous Ammonia safely.
