Job description

South Country Co-op is hiring an Agro Driver at our Agro Centre in Cypress County, Alberta.

Responsibilities:
  1. Delivering excellent customer service and operating semi and pup trailers, loaders.
  2. Meeting customers and loading/unloading Anhydrous Ammonia (NH3) and Agro products.
  3. Ensuring safe operation of the vehicle, conducting pre-trip inspections, and reporting discrepancies.
  4. Maintaining trucks and filling out daily logs.
  5. Communicating sales and promotion programs to customers.
  6. Representing South Country Co-op professionally and adhering to safety policies.
  7. Performing warehouse duties such as pricing, stocking, inventory, shipping/receiving, and housekeeping.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Minimum 1 year of Class 1 driving experience and 2-3 years transporting dangerous goods.
  • Knowledge of TDG and WHMIS regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and operate a manual transmission.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods training (training provided).
  • Experience with NH3 transport preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of load properties, hoses, couplings, and handling requirements.
  • Ability to operate in various environments, including hazardous and non-industrial areas.
  • Computer skills, map reading, and GPS usage.
  • Physical ability to lift over 55 lbs and work at heights.
  • Strong safety commitment and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Availability Monday to Friday, evenings, and weekends.
  • Up to 75% driving time.
  • Work at heights, in all weather conditions, and in noisy/dusty environments.
  • Handling Anhydrous Ammonia safely.
  • Application should include a Drivers Abstract attachment.
