Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, commissioning, and training of Normet equipment in a safe and timely manner, fulfilling the following duties:
Responsibilities
- Perform technical repairs according to schedule, applying relevant knowledge and skills.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate equipment to determine the most efficient solution.
- Estimate repair costs and obtain necessary authorization before commencing work.
- Recommend and explain additional repairs when appropriate.
- Modify and repair vehicle systems, including chassis, driveline, engine, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics.
- Test and adjust mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and circuits.
- Travel to customer locations to carry out repairs as directed.
- Complete repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Use necessary safety equipment daily, including hard hats, safety glasses, work boots, safety harnesses, etc.
- Maintain professional and effective interactions within a small team and when working independently, both internally and externally with customers and subcontractors.
- Report non-conforming issues to uphold Normet’s quality standards and contribute ideas to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Finalize repair orders and service reports promptly, coordinating with the accounting department for billing.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to obtain repair parts, components, and information, including warranty paperwork.
- Perform equipment commissioning at various customer locations within the region and possibly beyond North America.
- Address missing or damaged items during commissioning, complete production reports, and submit to the Service Manager.
- Provide startup and billable training as requested by the Service Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed heavy-duty equipment mechanic preferred.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with underground/tunneling equipment.
- Experience with Wet Shotcreting equipment and processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and brake systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and across North America.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Flexible, proactive, self-motivated, and open to new challenges.
