Job Title: Front End Developer

Location: Toronto, Ontario, M5J 2T3

12 Months contract

Position overview:

Review product requirements and work with the user community to discuss the requirements. Work with business user groups to understand business needs, provide scalable solutions, and collaborate with the business community to come up with efficient alternatives. Strong UI/UX development experience is required. Work with the Technical lead(s) to prepare a design solution for the requirement, document with appropriate design artifacts such as high-level design and low-level design, and break the implementation plan into smaller deliverables aligned to project timelines. Ensure software is built in a scalable manner and utilize Junit to test the code. Work with business users to secure necessary sign-offs for deliverables and coordinate for the product rollout, which involves working on tools for building and deploying the software. Investigate and solve issues in a timely manner for the software in the production environment. Work on competing projects simultaneously and ensure the quality of all deliverables. Collaborate with a global software development team and communicate status/design effectively across multiple regions.

Requirements for this role include:

1. Overall 3+ Years of IT experience.
2. Strong programming skills in Java with proficiency in object-oriented design principles.
3. Strong experience with Front end development (React.js).
4. Familiarity with Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
5. Familiarity with distributed storage systems like DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB.
6. Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, especially using Git.
7. Working knowledge of Unix/Linux experience.
