As part of The Office of University Advancement, Marketing and Communications integrates expertise, efforts, and experience to help Mount Royal University meet its institutional goals. The department collaborates with resources on and off campus to support Mount Royal's reputation and image as a premier Canadian undergraduate institution. This is achieved by developing and implementing strategies to advance institutional priorities, increase the university's profile, and serve as a key resource within the campus community. The team of creative professionals focuses on partnership, mutual goals, adaptability, and storytelling.

About the Role

At Mount Royal University, marketing is about shaping perceptions, driving conversations, and inspiring connections. We seek a strategic and imaginative Director of Marketing to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President of Marketing and Communications and collaborating with the Director of Communications, you will focus on amplifying the university's brand and enhancing its reputation.

As the Director of Marketing, you'll lead a team responsible for shaping the university's visual identity, developing innovative campaigns, and executing marketing strategies that resonate locally, nationally, and internationally.

Responsibilities :
  1. Team Leadership (30%): Guide, mentor, and inspire the marketing team, fostering innovation and excellence, while supporting the Communications team.
  2. Strategy Development (30%): Collaborate to create and execute marketing strategies aligned with institutional goals and measurable outcomes.
  3. Brand Management (20%): Steward the Mount Royal brand, ensuring consistency and impact across all media and platforms.
  4. Campaign Management (20%): Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns that uphold and enhance the university's brand.

Ability to think outside conventional boundaries, developing practical, imaginative solutions to complex marketing challenges. Delivers impactful campaigns that differentiate Mount Royal and maximizes outcomes.

Organizational collaboration

Builds strong, trust-based relationships across stakeholder groups. Navigates organizational structures diplomatically, influencing decisions through effective communication and strategic vision.

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive marketing and leadership experience.
  • Expertise in brand strategy, campaign management, creative direction, and integrated marketing practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to measure and adapt initiatives based on KPIs.
  • Proven team management and inspiration skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.

Salary : $109,020.00 - $129,733.00
