Job description

Job Duties / Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

Job Duties

This position is within the School of Continuing Education and will support the Future Leaders program grant. Working with the Early Childhood Education program and Continuing Education, this position will:

  1. Act as a content expert working with an Instructional Designer to develop and support the creation of micro-credentials.
  2. Collaborate with the Program Head and Instructional Designer to develop and select content for the Early Childhood Education Micro-Credentials and potentially other online content.
  3. Develop and select engaging content, including assessments for an online platform, sourcing external resources (industry experts, images, videos) and ensuring copyright permissions are obtained.
  4. Contribute to the Future Leaders team by attending meetings, providing updates, and supporting content and program development.
  5. Research industry trends and incorporate findings into course design.
  6. Meet deadlines set by PH and other project members (ID and PM).
  7. Follow Saskatchewan Polytechnic's academic regulations and policies.
  8. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work and colleagues.
  9. Attend program and school meetings as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities (QSA)

  1. Recognized relevant four-year degree: Bachelor of Education (including a minor in Special Education, a 15-credit Micro-credential in Special Education/Inclusive Education, or a Certificate in Inclusive Education), Bachelor of Child and Youth Studies, or a Bachelor’s in Child Development.
  2. Two years of recent, relevant experience supporting children with Autism in an inclusive setting.
  3. Demonstrated competence and recent experience with internet, online teaching, email, MS Office Suite, and adaptability to new technologies.
  4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
