Role Overview
As an Electrical Technologist, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating electrical designs using Revit. Working closely with senior engineers and multi-disciplinary teams, you will ensure that electrical systems are seamlessly integrated into architectural and structural designs. You will be involved in building renewals projects, contributing to power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communication systems. This role will also include front facing responsibilities, including client liaison, consultant coordination as well as site reviews & instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify detailed Revit models for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communication systems for residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
  • Coordinate electrical design with in-house teams, construction managers, and external consultants using Revit and BIM platforms.
  • Conduct conceptual and detailed designs of electrical systems for both new construction and building renewal projects.
  • Assess existing electrical systems, conduct site reviews, and prepare condition reports to support building renewal initiatives.
  • Ensure all designs comply with the Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Codeand National Building Code of Canada.
  • Support contract administration and field reviews for projects under construction.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation related to electrical systems.
  • Stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in electrical design and Revit/BIM processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4years of experience as an Electrical Technologist in the buildings electrical engineering field.
  • Proficiency in Revit software for electrical design and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Codeand other relevant regulations.
  • Experience in building condition assessments and technical reporting.
  • Familiarity with tender package specifications, feasibility studies, budget estimates, shop drawing reviews, and commissioning.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with project teams and clients.
