We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team for the upcoming season. We offer flexible contract options, with both 4-month and 6-month contracts available. Start dates are in April or May, with all contracts concluding in October.

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our kitchen team. This role will be responsible for providing fast and effective cleaning of all kitchen utensils, dishwashing area, kitchen floor, dishware, glassware, and pots, and always maintaining the kitchen area clean and tidy. It will also be responsible for ensuring that all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet restaurant's specifications and commitment to high quality in an efficient manner.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Use proper chemicals to sanitize items, and always follow WHMIS guidelines.
  2. Wash all pots, pans, inserts, etc. and clean kitchen equipment as per cleaning schedule.
  3. Keep the kitchen area floors swept, cleaned, and washed at all times.
  4. Assist with prep work under direction and supervision of a qualified cook.
  5. Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  6. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  7. Restock all items as needed throughout the work shift.
  8. Clean and maintain workstation in perfect ready condition.
  9. Clean and organize all related work equipment and areas.
  10. Keep sanitation solution up to company codes and rules at all times.
  11. Set up dish machine in the AM and close down machine in the PM according to procedures.
  12. Maintain daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
  13. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely, efficient, and effective manner, and in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and rules.
  14. Perform other related duties as required by the Executive Chef / Sous Chef.
  15. Always maintain personal grooming and hygiene.
Qualifications
  1. Energetic, flexible, hands-on individual with initiative and integrity.
  2. Professional demeanour, positive attitude.
  3. Efficient, effective, work well under pressure, independently and as a member of a team.
  4. Able to perform well under stress in a fast-paced work environment.
  5. Good communication skills, willingness to learn and develop.
  6. Strong teamwork skills, respecting other co-workers.
Requirements
  1. Prior experience in a similar setting is considered an asset but is not necessary.
  2. Knowledge of federal and provincial health, safety and food-handling laws and regulations.
  3. Valid WHMIS certification is mandatory.
  4. First Aid certification is considered an asset.
