Job description

We are seeking candidates who already have supervisory or management experience to join our accelerated management training (AMT) program.

This program is designed to attract leaders from related or similar industries and introduce you to our company and business model. It is a rotational development program aimed at preparing successful candidates for future leadership opportunities within our business. Join our thriving team and enhance your leadership skills through highly visible work experiences in operations, sales, and business management arenas.

This formal leadership development program is intended for highly motivated individuals, offering experience across various rotations within NCS International Co., including Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Finance, and Branch Management.

Rotations are structured to equip trainees with the skills and knowledge necessary for potential development into future leadership roles in key business functions of our company.

The training will be completed in a compressed timeframe of 6 to 12 months, with actual duration in each rotation varying based on the AMT's progress.

AMTs will be placed in one of our branches across Canada, including locations in Abbotsford, BC; Edmonton, AB; Calgary, AB; Saskatoon, SK; Winnipeg, MB; Mississauga, ON; London, ON; Stoney Creek, ON; Saint-Hyacinthe, QC; Montreal, QC. Candidates must be willing to relocate permanently to any of these locations.

Throughout the 6–12-month program, placement can be at any branch location, and relocation is a requirement.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

During rotations, you will receive mentorship from our VP / General Manager and other high-performing leaders to understand our business through all critical operational pathways.

Core Assignments

Participants will engage in daily operations as part of each assigned team. The duration of each assignment will depend on individual needs and regional opportunities. Additionally, AMTs are expected to develop a departmental improvement project focusing on process or method enhancements during each rotation.

This leadership program is tailored for candidates with 3-5 years of prior management or leadership experience in a similar industry.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution; trades background in the electrical industry is also acceptable.
  • 3-5 years' prior supervisory or managerial experience in a related or transferrable field; experience in electrical or peripheral industries is a plus.
  • Willingness to relocate to any of our locations.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability to new situations and learning opportunities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly learn industry-specific software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Creative, lateral thinking, with an ability to think outside the box.
  • Strong business ethics and a professional demeanor.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including moving electrical reels and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Availability for travel to attend training, evaluate inventory, or meet with clients.
  • Willingness to relocate annually as required by the program.
