Mechanical Project Manager

A stable multi-trade contractor in the Kitchener area is currently looking for an enthusiastic individual who is able to contribute immediately and eager to continue learning. The successful candidate will work on a variety of mechanical construction projects related to institutional, commercial, and industrial jobs. As a key member of the team, the Mechanical Project Manager will be required to assist with the development and management of project schedules, thereby ensuring successful projects.

Sample of Responsibilities:

1. Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
2. Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy
3. Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines
4. Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
5. Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts
6. Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs
7. Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships
8. Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
9. Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete project
10. Document control

Qualifications:

1. Construction Technical Diploma and/or equivalent trade experience and knowledge
2. 3-6+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Coordinator position.
3. Planning and scheduling ability
4. Understanding of project forecasting and projections
5. Ability to read drawings and project
6. Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
7. Dispute resolution and negotiation ability
