Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the management of wood frame residential and mixed-use construction projects in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing all phases of wood frame construction, a deep understanding of local building regulations, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of wood frame residential and mixed-use projects, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and company goals.
- Team Management: Oversee project teams, including supervisors and subcontractors, while mentoring junior staff and fostering continuous improvement.
- Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets and financial reports, ensuring cost-effective procurement and addressing potential cost overruns.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify project risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and building strong relationships.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high construction quality through regular inspections and prompt resolution of deficiencies.
Education and Certifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- PMP or other project management certification is an asset.
- Valid local trade certifications or Red Seal qualifications are advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on wood frame residential and mixed-use projects.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale projects from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with local building codes, permit processes, and municipal regulations in Vancouver, BC.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
- Excellent budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawings.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000
