Job description

General Surgery Opportunity at Ross Memorial Hospital

The division of General Surgery at Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) in Lindsay, Ontario is recruiting a general surgeon to live and practice in the community. Call obligation is 1 in 4 (locums serve as the 4th member). Applicants must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and possess a community general surgery skill-set, with expectations of providing endoscopic and a full breadth of general surgical services.

Additional sub-specialty fellowship training may be considered a plus but is not required. Equipment for advanced laparoscopic procedures (colorectal, upper GI, etc.) is provided. The weekly schedule includes one day each of operating room and endoscopy, and half a day of minor procedures.

Other specialties at RMH include Orthopedics, OB / GYN, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, and Internal Medicine. The hospital features an 8-bed closed ICU staffed by internists and intensivists, with a Hospitalist service to assist in ward care. Advanced diagnostic services include CT and MRI, with Interventional Radiology available via Peterborough Regional Hospital, 30 minutes away.
