Position Summary

The Well-being Facilitator will collaborate with colleagues to facilitate programing and participate in resource planning that promotes the development of strategies and skills conducive to positive mental health and mindfulness. The Well-being Facilitator must be familiar with programs and resources that promote social emotional learning such as the Mind Up curriculum and the resources and programs offered through School Mental Health Ontario. Key components of the Well-being Facilitator are to be able to develop positive, supportive relationships and sense of belonging; model healthy coping skills; and promote resilience, leadership, and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • A graduate of the Child and Youth Care, Behavioural Psychology or Behavioural Science Program or alternate academic qualifications with relevant work-related experience may be considered;
  • Previous experience implementing the Mind Up curriculum, School Mental Health Ontario resources or other evidenced-based programs promoting Social Emotional Learning that are currently implemented within schools;
  • Previous work-related experience with school-age children and youth;
  • Competency in computer technology, particularly Microsoft Office applications and virtual platforms;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish positive relationships with children and youth in virtual contexts;
  • Ability to positively engage parents to share progress reports and recommendations when needed;
  • Self-initiated, well organized, and able to efficiently manage time;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle in order to travel and provide service throughout the district;
