Job Description

Join our Restaurant Team as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, where you will have the opportunity to learn and grow within a Relais & Châteaux property, recognized by Forbes, Michelin (Two Keys), AAA 4-Diamond, and T&L’s World's Best Hotel.

Our food & beverage venues reflect rustic elegance and breathtaking views, emphasizing Canadian cuisine under the leadership of our Executive Chef and our award-winning wine and spirits program. We seek a passionate hospitality professional experienced in service nuances, dedicated to building a professional team that offers an educated and approachable fine dining experience on the West Coast.

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will:

  • Ensure efficient, personalized guest service that exceeds Relais & Châteaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes standards.
  • Assist with planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of operations across The Pointe Restaurant, On The Rocks Bar, Private Bar, Room Service, and Driftwood Café.
  • Determine service offerings and implement operational procedures.
  • Manage HR functions including hiring, training, development, and employee reviews.
  • Set staff work schedules and monitor performance.
  • Control inventory, manage weekly orders, and help meet financial goals, analyzing monthly results.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by resolving complaints efficiently.
  • Manage team meetings and cover management meetings in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate embodies West Coast culture and a commitment to hospitality and excellence. They will have:

  • Previous management experience in a high-end, standards-driven establishment.
  • Passion for wine and spirits; Sommelier (ISG/WSET 2) certification is an asset.
  • Hospitality or food and beverage management education; college or equivalent.
  • Valid Serving It Right Certification.
  • Knowledge of Silverware POS system is an asset.
  • A willingness to learn and grow with the team.
  • An eye for detail and a passion for guest service.
  • Professional, positive attitude, punctuality, and dedication.
  • A calm, polite, and composed demeanor.
  • Innovative ideas for ongoing improvement.
  • Ability to commit to the position for at least 2 years.

Salary/Wage: $55,000 - $59,000 per year.
