Salary : $28 CAD / hr and mileage reimbursement per investigation plus recovery commission

Position : Bilingual Field Claims Investigator / Claim Recovery Agent

Location : Hybrid (75% remote, 25% fieldwork)

Compensation : $28 CAD / hr and mileage reimbursement ($.72 CAD per km for first 5,000 km, $.66 CAD per km thereafter) per investigation plus commission based on successful recovery of claims (estimated $80,000 CAD / yr)

Phoenix Loss Control (PLC) is a U.S.-based business services provider in the cable, telecom, and utilities sector. PLC specializes in outside plant damage investigation, recovery, and prevention, helping clients recover costs from damages to infrastructure such as underground fiber optic or gas lines. The company employs over 120 people and services major cable and telecom operators including Comcast, Spectrum, AT&T, and Google. Phoenix is expanding rapidly and seeks talented individuals to join its growth.

POSITION SUMMARY

Outside Plant Damage (OPD) costs clients over 30 million USD / 43 million CAD annually. The role involves field investigations, collecting and reporting damages, and claim recovery, which includes reviewing damage information, identifying liable parties, invoicing, and pursuing recovery. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required for effective communication.

• Conduct on-site investigations
• Write detailed, concise reports using various sources and evidence
• Maintain knowledge of local and national statutes regarding utilities
• Respond promptly to damage calls
• Complete investigations within 7 days and support claims managers in recovery
• Respond to damages on the same day during business hours
• Accurately record all related activities

Claim Recovery Duties

• Analyze claim information, identify liable parties, and facilitate resolution
• Gather costs and prepare invoices
• Communicate with liable parties and insurance carriers
• Negotiate settlements and resolve conflicts
