About the Role

The Director, Facilities & Engineering will lead strategic and operational initiatives related to building systems, security, capital projects, safety, and sustainability. Reporting to the General Manager and part of the Strategy Team, you will optimize operations and infrastructure to keep the venue future-ready.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily facility operations, including maintenance, systems, and security.
  2. Lead capital projects from concept to completion.
  3. Drive energy optimization, sustainability, and compliance.
  4. Manage departmental budgets and vendor relationships.
  5. Lead a high-performing team in a unionized environment.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and City officials.
  7. Champion safety and emergency preparedness.
  8. Promote innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • 7–10 years in facility operations or construction.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Certified Journeyman or Engineering education; minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • PMP or FMC designation (asset).
  • Strong understanding of municipal regulations, OH&S, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CMMS platforms (e.g., MPulse).
  • Excellent team-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage risk, analyze data, and ensure accountability.
