Pay Rate: $18.97/hr

Job Description: To deliver a consistent and outstanding level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. Working on assigned shifts, to act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming property environment. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner
  • Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR or AED support until medical professionals arrive
  • Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures
  • Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
  • Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
  • Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections
  • Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using CF's standard report-writing program

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Must possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification (WSIB-approved). Please note, this is different from Level C or Emergency First Aid certification.
  • A Valid G2 or G Drivers Licence
  • 2 COVID-19 Vaccinations proof
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability

Additional prerequisites:

  • Must be able to commute to Toronto for pre-deployment training (4 training days M-F)
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) from ASP provider. Other security providers different than the ASP will not be allowed and applicant will have to enroll into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position.
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training and will provide you with their certification upon successful completion with a 6 month commitment to the position availability.
