Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineering Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in championing supplier performance and product quality.

You will be responsible for proactively managing the technical and quality requirements for the EMS contract manufacturers. You may lead or contribute to complex root cause corrective action investigations that encompass potential workmanship, design, component, and test deficiencies. You will be responsible for proactively ensuring supplier performance and quality of product conformance to established company, international, and government regulatory standards, and customer-defined requirements.

Tasks can include RCCAs, Supplier Quality Audits, Disposition of non-conforming materials, New product introductions, and risk mitigation. Experience and effective RCCA capabilities within a Contract Manufacturing environment, Circuit Card Assembly, and PWB manufacturing are required.

Other responsibilities will include :
  • Participate in SCM commodity (multiple supplier) teams to achieve specific technical, commercial, and supplier quality objectives.
  • Participate in the supplier approval process. Evaluate and rate potential new supplier quality, lead visits and audits.
  • Support commodity reviews and rationalization of suppliers.
  • Responsible for root cause and corrective action investigation and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Conduct supply quality information trend analysis.
  • Measure, track, and improve supplier quality.
  • Develop and support the verification of quality records and ensure specifications are correctly interpreted and applied.
  • Provide day-to-day supply quality engineering support to suppliers.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain quality audit plans to verify supplier quality management systems are in compliance with industry, government, and international standards, and good manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the review and approval of supplier QA procedures, supplier QC plans, and locate inspection, test, and measurement equipment at vendor sites.
  • Support engineering design and development.
  • Support strategic supplier development and progression of vendors from identification, through qualification, to preferred and strategic status.
  • Initiate lower-cost, lean methods in the GDMS-C supply chain.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional project teams.
  • Be a key user of supplier rating and management tools.
  • Communicate supplier issues to other GDC departments and proactively implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with leadership, engineering, operations, quality, and programs.
  • Coach and mentor more junior team members.

  • Advanced user of MS Office applications and related tools.
  • Proven project leadership experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or applicable technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
