Job Summary

The Director of Hospitality and Support Services is responsible for all aspects of the operation, including staffing, client relations, customer service, resident satisfaction, budgeting, financial management, and the implementation and ongoing success of resident dining, retail, marketing programs, and catering services. The role requires flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the opening of Food and Support Services in a new Seniors Living Facility, including a state-of-the-art kitchen, resident dining rooms, a high-end restaurant, and lounge.
  • Manage multiple client relationships.
  • Ensure resident and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with quality assurance, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Plan menus, develop standardized recipes, and prepare production sheets to meet nutritional requirements.
  • Monitor meal preparation and service to uphold quality and quantity standards.
  • Incorporate resident preferences into service delivery.
  • Hire, train, supervise, delegate tasks, and evaluate staff across food service, maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Maintain budgets and control costs; provide operational reports as required.
  • Implement and oversee a Food Safety Plan, including HACCP, WHMIS, WSIB/WCB regulations, and audit procedures.
  • Manage inventory and complete financial reporting according to company schedules.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed in a large-scale setting.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education with at least 7 years of progressive foodservice management experience in a licensed, full-service environment.
  • Experience managing multiple sites, including housekeeping and maintenance, is an asset.
  • Proven leadership in a customer-centric hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of provincial food premises regulations and health and safety legislation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with large-scale food preparation, financial planning, and procurement.
  • Creative menu planning and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with residents and guests.
  • Team player with collaborative approach.
  • Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management is an asset.
  • Advanced Food Safety Training (AFST) and Level 1 & 2 Health and Safety Certification, or willingness to complete within 90 days of hire.
