Job description

As a Garden Center Associate, you will help customers understand their needs and assist in selecting the right products. As knowledgeable sales professionals, sales associates can make recommendations that solve customer problems and enhance their shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Sales and customer service experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends (rotating shifts)
• Ability to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D635) used to process orders
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Drive sales by engaging customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
• Understand customer needs and recommend the best solutions for their projects
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
• Take initiative and confidently manage customer interactions
• Produce quotes and material lists, and follow up accordingly
• Maintain high standards of safety and customer service
• Resolve customer challenges efficiently and effectively
• Continuously learn about products and market conditions
