Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to become our Hardware Group Manager. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Engineering and R&T. The role requires the successful individual to manage the people and processes within the Hardware Group to ensure on-time, on-cost, and on-quality development of complex hardware solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide guidance and leadership for all Hardware group activities including development, verification, change management, configuration management, and proposals.
  • Maintain and update processes, methods, and procedures in compliance with industry standards, specifically DO-254 related to Board Design, PLD / FPGA Design, and enclosures.
  • Support career and personal development opportunities including training, mentoring, and annual performance reviews.
  • Manage team skills and gaps, deploy necessary skills to projects, conduct training, and build a subcontractor support network.
  • Perform recruitment, interviews, and selection for both contract and full-time employees.
  • Support the definition of product and technology roadmaps for future growth.
  • Oversee sub-contracted activities and monitor progress.
  • Apply significant knowledge of DO-254 and DO-160 guidelines related to airborne electronic hardware design, development, verification, and certification.
  • Estimate efforts and plan workloads, including risk analysis and performance metrics.
  • Work with circuits and technologies used in aerospace applications, such as power supplies, motor control, sensor management, and embedded microcontrollers.
