Amalgamated Mining Equipment (AME) is seeking an experienced and driven Shop Foreman to lead our service team in maintaining and repairing top-quality mining equipment. If you have a strong mechanical background, leadership experience, and a passion for keeping heavy equipment running at peak performance, we want to hear from you!

Shop Foreman plays a crucial role in ensuring that the AME shop operates smoothly, deadlines are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mechanical shop.
  2. Plan and coordinate workflow to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  3. Assign tasks to mechanics and ensure they are completed efficiently and effectively.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  5. Inspect equipment and machinery for maintenance and repairs.
  6. Train and mentor staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
  7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  8. Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise in the shop.
  9. Communicate with management and other departments to coordinate activities.
  10. Keep accurate records of work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
  1. Valid Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's Certificate as a HD Mechanic.
  2. Five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  3. Extensive technical background.
  4. Proven experience as a Shop Foreman or similar role in a mechanical shop environment.
  5. Strong leadership and communication skills.
  6. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  7. In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
  8. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  9. Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
  10. Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle conflicts effectively.
  11. Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
