Qualifications

Job Description

As a Weigh Scale Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair scales for our customers across the Maritimes. You will have the opportunity to service industrial scales from industries including construction, fishing, and oil and gas. This role reports to the Weigh Scale Team Lead.

Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain scales at customer sites.
  • Advise customers on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Repair scales at customer sites.
  • Respond to emergency repairs professionally and efficiently.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers.
  • Analyze equipment problems and troubleshoot issues independently or with colleagues.
  • Make necessary field corrections.
  • Keep work area, vehicle, and equipment organized.
  • Maintain high safety standards per company policies and training.
  • Prepare neat and accurate service reports and calibration certificates.
  • Complete required training sessions as per company or client policies.
Qualifications
  • Preferred post-secondary education with a strong electrical/mechanical background.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of working independently or in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft platforms; strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer scales; familiarity with safety manuals and on-site safety is an asset.
  • Experience in repairing industrial and retail weigh scales is an asset.
  • Willing to undergo in-house training.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract; Class 3 license is an asset.
  • Willing to travel out of town for on-site service calls and contracts.
