Job summary

Une entreprise d'ingénierie innovante recherche un Designer / Ingénieur en Distribution Souterraine pour contribuer à des projets dans le secteur des services publics électriques et de télécommunications. Le candidat idéal aura une expérience solide en conception de distribution électrique souterraine, ainsi que des compétences en communication et organisation. Ce rôle implique la préparation de conceptions techniques, la coordination de projets et le mentorat du personnel junior.

Qualifications

  • Minimum de 3 ans d'expérience en conception de distribution électrique souterraine.
  • Compréhension de la conception d'ingénierie civile pour les actifs de services publics.
  • Familiarité avec les outils de reporting de projet et le cycle de vie du projet.

Responsibilities

  • Préparer des conceptions, calculs et illustrations pour des projets de distribution souterraine.
  • Assister dans la coordination de projets et le soutien aux clients.
  • Diriger une équipe de projet pour la livraison d'un projet assigné.

Job description

Our client is an innovative industry leading company that provides engineering services to the electric and telecom utility industry. We are currently seeking an individual as an Underground Distribution Designer / Engineer to contribute to the projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, calculations, illustrations and independent checks for UG and OH distribution projects.
  • Willing to assist in a variety of project support activities including project coordination, estimating, strategic planning, client support, and business analysis supporting the business development and project management departments.
  • Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports and project calculations.
  • Prepare design markups to the drafting group in order to assist in the development of an engineered drafted drawing.
  • Consult as required with the Professional of Record and action changes as directed.
  • Interface with other design disciplines, coordinate with related stakeholders, project managers and managers.
  • Lead a project team in the delivery of an assigned project.
  • Provide mentorship, training and guidance to junior staff.
  • Use computer-aided design methods to solve problems and prepare drawings.
  • Interact with clients, consultants and contractors on a continual basis.
  • Occasional travel should be expected.

Qualifications

Required :

  • Minimum of 3 years experience designing underground power distribution assets in a power utility environment.
  • Post Secondary diploma or degree from a recognized electrical technology or engineering institution.
  • An understanding of civil engineering design for power utility assets.
  • Strong communication and organization skills and attention to details.
  • Familiarity with project reporting, quantitative tools and the project lifecycle.
  • Driver's license

Preferred :

  • experience working with BC Hydro design systems an asset.
