We're seeking a Sous Chef to join us at Park! Park is a backcountry lodge inspired craft distillery in the heart of Downtown Banff. Our menu features campfire inspired cuisine & wood-fired rotisserie specialties served alongside our award-winning spirits. We are the ONLY distillery located in a Canadian National Park. What You'll Do:

  • Focus on producing quality food experiences for our guests, leading the kitchen team, and hiring amazing people.
  • Maintain kitchen organization, efficiency, and supervise all food preparation, ensuring presentation, quality, and standards are met.
  • Ensure cooking stations are stocked for prime operation hours and coordinate ordering of supplies on budget and on time.
  • Lead the kitchen team with the Chef de Cuisine, providing guidance, training, and recognizing opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage food and product ordering, keep detailed records, minimize waste, and verify food storage meets all regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Verify the food storage system is working appropriately and ensure all staff understands the importance of proper food product dating and organization.
  • Act as an ambassador of our employer brand, scouting for top talent and assisting with kitchen team hiring.

What You Have:

  • 2-3 years culinary experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory kitchen role is an asset.
  • Food Safety certification.
  • Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, remaining calm under stress.
  • Strong team player with a knack for bringing others together towards a common goal.
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of effective workplace culture.
  • Ability to view situations from multiple perspectives and be open to different approaches.
  • Ability to work with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Flexible schedule required.
