Packaging Supervisor

NIGHT SHIFT

We are seeking a Packaging Supervisor for a reputable food manufacturer located in North York. To qualify for this role, you should have at least three years of experience as a Packaging Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Coordination:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in packaging products.
• Schedule packaging line activities and oversee daily performance against established standards and schedules.
• Train workers in the operation of equipment and packaging procedures.
• Ensure team members understand and adhere to operational, quality, and process standards.

Quality and Safety:

• Ensure all products are packed safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a sanitary environment and adhere to all food safety regulations.
• Ensure adherence to all SOPs, cGMPs, and safety requirements.
• Inspect packages to ensure they are not damaged and meet shipping regulations.

Production and Efficiency:

• Evaluate production/packaging processes and determine the most efficient methods.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• Monitor productivity and motivate employees to ensure all products are packed properly.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Complete all assigned paperwork, including shipping and receiving logs, product traceability records, and packaging materials records.
• Report team and individual performance to human resources and senior management.

Other Duties:

• Start, adjust, and repair packaging machinery, or notify the maintenance department.
• Create and modify labeling for finished products, following established design formats and branding guidelines.
• Manage the packaging process and collaborate with other departments to optimize production efficiency.
