Job Title: Full Stack Java Developer

Experience Level: Level 2 (2-5 yrs of experience)

Location: Montreal (Day 1 onboarding onsite / in-office presence 3x week)

Position Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Java application Lead/Developer with a solid software technology background and the capacity to build and support robust, secure, and multi-platform financial applications. The role involves contributing to the evolution of our Global Trade Clearing and Primary Dealer Reporting platform.

You will be part of a strategic global team responsible for building and shaping the platform. The successful candidate will be a proficient and productive developer, possess good communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a global team as a member of an agile squad.

This position requires a hands-on application Lead/Developer who will collaborate with multiple IT groups and deliver major application development projects. Experience with middle office trades processing is highly desirable. Specific assignments will vary based on project size and complexity.

Skills Required:

1. 3+ years of experience in Core Java, with a solid understanding of threading and memory management
2. Experience with Spring framework, Spring Boot, REST/SOAP services
3. Experience with Object-Oriented Programming and design patterns
4. Experience with SQL programming and relational databases
5. Unix/Linux experience
6. Basic understanding of frontend frameworks like Angular/React
7. Solid application and database design experience
8. Extensive experience in scoping, analysis, and design
9. Excellent programming and debugging skills
10. Experience in planning, architectural design, technical analysis, and development of medium to high complexity projects
11. Proven track record of delivering results in complex or ambiguous environments
12. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
13. Strong written and oral communication skills, with effective listening abilities
14. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within Technology, Business, and Operations

Skills Desired:

1. Background in computer science (Bachelor/Master's degree)
2. Experience in developing middle office software is desirable
3. Messaging experience with MQ/JMS and Kafka
4. Cloud experience – Azure/AWS
5. Development experience within the financial/banking industry is strongly preferred
