Job description

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming academic year, to fill the following Full-Time Term position based out of Sally Ross School, Hall Lake, SK:

Responsibilities:
  1. Use appropriate teaching aids and techniques to meet Saskatchewan curriculum standards.
  2. Implement a variety of instructional strategies to address individual student needs.
  3. Participate in staff, community, School Committee, and parent-teacher meetings, as well as in-service workshops, to better understand community aspirations and improve teaching skills.
  4. Engage in school extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate.
  2. Ability to teach students with varying abilities.
  3. Proficiency with the Saskatchewan Kindergarten Curriculum.
  4. Motivational skills to encourage student engagement and learning.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills for instruction and assessment.
  6. Computer skills, including experience with PowerPoint, Google Classroom, and Microsoft Teams.
  7. Effective time management skills for online teaching environments.
  8. Early Childhood and cross-cultural experience are assets.
  9. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  10. Online teaching experience is an asset.
  11. Ability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening, and verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable).
