About the Department
The IT Application Production Support team is part of the Information Technology group, which works simultaneously on a wide range of projects arising from businesses, strategic initiatives, regulatory changes, and reengineering of existing applications to improve functionality and efficiency.
The team provides technical and functional support directly to operational users within BP2S.
Summary Of The Role
The Functional Support Analyst is accountable for daily support and responsible for analyzing accounting issues during production phases.
As required, functional support and user setup may be performed. The Analyst shall serve on a team which acts as the first point-of-contact (Level 1 and 2): the role will be to receive, record, and understand issues, fix business logic issues, suggest improvements, route unknown issues to Level 3 vendor support staff, and communicate the resolution to the requestor.
Need to be an expert in fund accounting activity, have a good understanding of the NAV cycle, be able to lead analysis of figures at the accounting level (be able to explain NAV variations), and be familiar with classic financial products and derivatives.
Main Responsibilities
Monitoring and supporting the day-to-day production activities.
Diagnosing and providing a high level of functional support for accounting applications Multifonds FA/WEM & Calculator.
Analysis and solving accounting and technical issues during production phases, raise change requests to the vendor, and ensure the follow-up of issues until the delivery of patch corrections.
Understand prerequisites for accounting migrations and specific accounting events such as mergers, splits, or changes of currency of share classes.
Contribute to maintaining a very stable BAU to deliver NAV on time and match with the deadlines. Flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the team. Willing to work on different days if required.
Provide guidance, instruction, and direction to their team and help the team create and maintain shared team values.
Testing of new Multifonds functionalities.
Internal Global Communication between APS IT and development teams.
Providing added value to set efficient workarounds in BAU.
Avoiding recurring incidents.
Closely follow up monitoring dashboards.
Ensure excellent communication, reporting, and escalation as and when needed.
Participate in several fund migration activities, testing, internal meetings, and catchup calls with external service providers.
Fund Accounting Platform:
The process of fund accounting is highly sensitive and is regulated by several industry norms. To work in this process, it requires:
Expertise in the business and in-depth understanding of the functional process in general. This includes the knowledge of financial instruments and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation that is the key value for any Mutual funds.
Must be an expert in fund accounting activity.
Be familiar with the different existing fund structures on the market (multiclass funds, poolings, segment master structures, concept of share class hedging...)
SME-core accounting application Multifonds FA/WEM software (Temenos) to provide a high level of functional support.
Key skills and qualifications
Domain:
Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting required; advanced degree considered a plus. Minimum 4 years of financial industry experience.
Knowledge of ITIL is a plus.
Experience with Oracle SQL / PL-SQL, ACCESS & EXCEL.
Prior experience creating procedures.
Good written and spoken English.
Must have worked on collecting metrics & analyzing the request/tickets, measuring and identifying areas for improving quality and overall delivery.
Able to communicate efficiently.
Good team player.
French/English.
Knowledge and/or experience of the investment services industry / funds administration will be mandatory.
Prior business analysis experience in an application support environment.
