Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a Mental Health Leadership Team Member, the Mental Health Provider, Generalist, will provide mental health services in an integrated health care agency serving UW-Madison students across identities and programs. Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing individual and group therapy services;
  2. Participating in clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services during business hours;
  3. Offering campus-based services, outreach, programming, and consultation;
  4. Responding to campus crises;

Additional options for direct clinical services include:

  1. Behavioral health interventions within Medical Services;
  2. Couple/partner therapy services;
  3. Supervising trainees, including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary actions;
  4. Administering and interpreting limited assessment measures;
  5. Developing teaching relationships with academic departments;
Administrative Duties:
  1. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions;
  2. Developing and implementing programs and services at MHS;
  3. Collaborating with UHS providers, staff, and campus partners;
  4. Following agency policies, state statutes, ethical guidelines, HIPAA, and FERPA;
  5. Attending staff and workgroup meetings, professional development activities, and serving on committees;
  6. Performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:

Providing social work services to support health and wellness, including evaluations, treatment planning, crisis intervention, referrals, and psychosocial assessments. Engaging in psychotherapeutic activities under supervision.

  • Performing social, emotional, and environmental evaluations (5%)
  • Recommending treatment plans (5%)
  • Updating case records (5%)
  • Facilitating counseling resources and programs (5%)
  • Providing crisis intervention (5%)
  • Referring to community and state resources (5%)
  • Assessing psychosocial functioning (5%)
  • Providing psychotherapy services (55%)
  • Participating in interdisciplinary treatment teams (5%)

Education:

Required: Master's Degree in social work or related mental health field. Applicants with counseling or psychology credentials should apply under those qualifications.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: 1 year of experience in a mental health setting. PREFERRED: Two years' experience, with preferred experience including counseling, crisis assessment, collaboration, electronic health records, and working with diverse populations.

License/Certification:

Required: LCSW license in Wisconsin or completion of licensure hours within 1 year of hire, with full licensure within 15 months. APSW candidates must have completed 1000 hours.

Work Type:

Full-time, with some in-person and remote work possible.

Salary:

Minimum $62,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
