Job description

Job Opportunity: Senior Lectureship / Reader in Biotechnology

We are seeking to appoint three outstanding and ambitious scientists to senior lectureship / reader positions within the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) at the University of Manchester (UoM).

The successful candidates will join a dynamic research environment equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to develop their research groups and foster collaborations. In addition to conducting high-quality research, candidates are expected to contribute to teaching. We welcome applications from across the broad engineering biology and biotechnology landscape. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural product biosynthesis and enzyme discovery
  • Structural biology and mechanistic enzymology
  • Microbial engineering

Please include a two-page research statement with your CV, outlining your future research plans as a senior group leader.

The MIB is a flagship UoM research institute that has significantly contributed to engineering biology and biotechnology research both in the UK and globally.
