The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Nipissing University invites applications for a 10-month Limited Term Faculty Appointment. This position is at the Assistant Professor rank and will start August 1, 2025. This position is located in North Bay, Ontario.

Computer Science faculty members at Nipissing University are committed to excellence in teaching and research. They earn funding from agencies like the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), publish in top scientific journals and initiate advanced undergraduate research. The General Computer Science Lab, Robotics Lab, Collaborative Systems lab, and interdisciplinary computational biomedical and environmental labs enhance students’ research and provide opportunities for them to pursue studies tailored to their individual interests. The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Completed or be near to completion of a PhD in Computer Science is preferred, a PhD in a closely related discipline will be considered.
• Research in Computer Science or Data Science, with preference given to those with an intersection in areas such as the Social Determinants of Health, Education, or Sustainable Planning.
• Demonstrated excellence or show promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching, specifically in introductory level courses.

The successful candidate may be invited to participate in curriculum revision and development and collaboration with the other science departments/programs.

The annual salary will correspond with qualifications and experience and will follow the Nipissing University Faculty Association (NUFA) Full-time Academic Staff Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement. The annual salary for this 10-month Assistant Professor position will be prorated from the full-time salary range of $85,372 to $130,606 CAD.
