Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. We operate GO Transit, UP Express, and the PRESTO fare payment system. We are building new rapid transit routes, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit, and major subway system expansions in Toronto. As an agency of the Ontario government, we prioritize equity, diversity, and inclusion.

The Analyst, Funding and Financing, analyzes financial architecture and metrics to develop financial models, manage long-term financial forecasts and cash flows, support funding contribution agreements, and establish procedures aligned with government policies and good business practices.

What will I be doing?
  1. Financial Analysis and Modeling: Develop and manage financial models, forecast financial impacts, analyze policies, and improve ERP systems. Monitor project budgets, prepare reports, and support management decision-making.
  2. Cashflow Planning: Coordinate cashflow for federally funded projects, identify eligible expenditures, and ensure compliance with contribution agreements.
  3. Funding Agreement Management: Support negotiations, develop amendments, and monitor adherence to funding agreements with federal and municipal partners.
  4. Audits and Relationships: Participate in funding audits, maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders, and stay current with project funding and progress.
  5. Process Improvement: Analyze and streamline administrative and operational processes related to funding and projects.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in financial analysis, modeling, planning, contract administration, and project management.
  • Designations in accounting, finance, or project management are preferred.
