Specialty Leasing Manager

Job Description Summary

The key responsibilities include marketing, leasing, and managing specialty leasing programs and special events across multiple shopping centre sites. The role aims to drive sales and traffic to retailers, achieve and surpass revenue targets, minimize vacancies, and ensure quality service and visual standards are maintained.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage specialty leasing areas such as:
  • Temporary inline leasing
  • Temporary kiosks
  • Pop-up retail and activations
  • MRU program
  • Centre-focused partnership opportunities
  • Other innovative, revenue-generating uses
  • Attend industry and internal conferences as required.
  • Prospect and build relationships with local entrepreneurs, leasing representatives, brokers, and potential tenants.
  • Maintain a database of clients, vendors, and contacts for business development.
  • Represent the property in the community to foster external relationships and meet local retail needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Key Requirements

    1. Post-secondary education with 5-7 years of leasing experience in retail or shopping centres.
    2. Ability to analyze demographic data and research information.
    3. Self-directed, confident, achievement-oriented individual.
    4. Proven sales and leasing experience, especially in specialty leasing.
    5. Ability to develop and implement innovative uses of common areas to generate interest and revenue.
    6. Persistent, entrepreneurial, with strong negotiation skills.
    7. Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and negotiation skills.
    8. Ability to build external relationships within the community.
    9. Team player, capable of interfacing with property management and head office teams.

    Skills & Experience

    The successful candidate will possess:

    1. High energy and creativity.
    2. Experience in leasing, sales, or retail environments.
    3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    4. Proficiency in Windows XP, Excel, Word, Simply Accounting, Adobe Illustrator, Internet.
    5. Basic accounting and record-keeping skills.
    6. Deal-making experience.
    7. Self-motivation and ability to handle challenging environments.
    8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
    9. Experience in organizing and executing events/promotions.
    10. Ability to provide a clear police record check.
    11. Previous specialty leasing experience preferred.
    12. Specialty Leasing Designation is an asset.
    13. Must have valid driver’s license and own transportation for local travel.
