Job description

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Foreman Maintenance of Way Worker to oversee essential maintenance activities on railway tracks in Toronto. This role requires extensive experience in railway operations, supervisory skills, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Qualifications
  • 5+ years of railway experience in yard or mainline operations, including supervisory experience.
  • Qualification and maintenance of Transport Canada Track Safety standards.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and radio communication.
  • First aid certification.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of VIA Rail internal training courses: NETS, Working at Heights, Forklift.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair railway tracks, switches, surface preparation, and painting.
  • Operate, inspect, and monitor railway tracks, including welding and cutting tasks.
  • Provide track protection as required.
  • Use electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools.
  • Work at heights, on ladders, and with personnel lifts.
  • Perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Be available for emergency repairs or overtime outside regular hours, if needed.
What We Offer
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Salary: $40.45/hour, including Qualification Pay if applicable
