Job description

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, Inc. is looking to fill the position of Building Maintenance Team Member at Kimberley Alpine Resort. The Building Maintenance Team Member is a key member of the Maintenance Department, working under the direction of the Building Maintenance Manager and working closely with the Facility Maintenance teams.

Role Summary

This role exhibits knowledge and experience of trade skills and is able to work in diverse situations such as facilities, seasonal lift shutdowns and the implementation of special capital projects. The Building Maintenance Team Member has a working knowledge of carpentry, drywall, groundskeeping, and painting. This role must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment keeping safety of the crew and resort guests a foremost priority. This is a full-time, seasonal position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively involved in preventative and required maintenance of all buildings
  • Maintain records of work and report on all building maintenance related activities
  • Operate company equipment safely and effectively in accordance with company policies
  • Assist other departments with general maintenance needs when required
  • Keep work area safe and clean and report any damage, malfunction, misuse or abuse of any equipment or property
  • Ensure safety of guests and employees through proper training and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing buildings and structures
  • Strong proficiency in carpentry, drywall, groundskeeping, and painting, with the ability to execute tasks effectively
  • General knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
  • Friendly and personable when interacting with others
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands-on tasks, including working outdoors in various weather conditions, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Works well independently, taking initiative to manage tasks and projects with accountability
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and departments
  • Valid driver’s license required for operating company vehicles and equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety, with the ability to consistently follow all safety rules and regulations

Conditions

  • work 10-hour days, set days of the week
  • full time scheduled to work a minimum of 80 hours per 2 week pay period during busy times
