Your Opportunity

Scion is paving a path in student living, and the Assistant General Manager is a key team member in executing our vision. This role involves supporting the General Manager in overseeing all operational functions and collaborating with the Customer & Sales Experience Manager on initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a bias for action, eagerness to learn and grow, and a customer-centric mindset. The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, excellent prioritization skills, and the ability to act as General Manager in their absence.

Your Responsibilities
Staff Development and Leadership
  • Assist in attracting candidates, hiring, and improving employee retention.
  • Support training, coaching, and leadership development of team members.
  • Coordinate with the Customer & Sales Experience Manager on property schedules, including after-hours shifts.
  • Partner with GM to enhance employee experience through data, conversations, and team building.
Property Administration
  • Assist GM with community management, policies, procedures, and emergencies.
  • Handle legal notices and evictions following policies and local laws.
  • Manage resident accounts, utility billing, accounts receivables, and conduct audits.
Facilities & Capital
  • Ensure a safe, clean community environment.
  • Conduct monthly property inspections and ensure facilities meet standards.
  • Coordinate work orders and communicate with staff/vendors to maintain high satisfaction.
Annual Turnover Process
  • Assist in planning and executing annual turnover, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Support staffing and use Turnable to track progress.
  • Assess damages, handle billing/disputes, and ensure units are ready for new residents.
Financial Performance
  • Prepare month-end reports, reconcile accounts.
  • Enforce collection policies to keep delinquency below 2%.
  • Post and collect damage charges and handle disputes.
Customer Experience & Sales
  • Communicate important community information.
  • Support customer experience initiatives and marketing.
  • Use KPIs to monitor trends and address issues proactively.
  • Manage resident concerns and online reviews.
  • Improve resident experience based on feedback.

Operational Details
  • Location at assigned property, with potential travel.
