An established healthcare provider is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join their team in Timmins. POSITION SUMMARY: To co-ordinate, perform and document allactivities involved in the Ultrasound Service. Exercises professional judgmentin performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medicalethics.
PositionRequirements:
1. Must be an active member, in good standing,with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontariolicensed to practice Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
2. Must possess the ability to perform scanningresponsibilities, which require the precise attainment of images within strictlimits, tolerance and standards, and to make independent decision to ensureoptimal patient care and efficient operation of the department.
3. Must possess the verbal ability to communicateorally with patients, physicians and other medical personnel in order to provideand receive information or instruction and to write clear, concise and accuratetechnical impressions.
4. Must possess the numerical ability to makemathematical calculations quickly and accurately for a particular treatmentplan.
5. Must possess excellent ocular/motor skills toprovide optimal Ultrasound Images.
6. Must possess the perception to review imagesand completing Technologist impression sheets for Quality Assurance Purposes.
7. Must have the physical capacity to performmedium work, requiring lifting and positioning of equipment and patients andthe ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
8. Employment History which demonstrates regularattendance at work.
9. Meditech / PACS experience would be an asset.
10. Must possess theability to provide effective services to clients/patients in both English andFrench. Individuals who do not meet thelanguage requirements of this posting are invited to submit their resume forfuture consideration.
11. Previousexperience and/or training in adult echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and/ or another Diagnostic Imaging Modality would be considered an asset.
PositionResponsibilities:
Contributes to thedevelopment of departmental philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures.Enforces all established policies and procedures of the program.
a) To adhere to hospital and departmental policiesand procedures
b) To appraise them, report their effectivenessand make recommendations to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging
c) To understand and respect the responsibilitiesof associates in the Hospital and to support them wherever possible in theachievement of their objectives.
d) To be a team player, support the team leader toensure optimal patient care.
Compensation andBenefits
· Startingsalary of $36.84/hour; $71,838.00/year (As per Step 1 of the OPSEU collectiveagreement.)
· Option toenroll into Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
