Position Summary: This course takes place in Year One of Bachelor of Education program to engage Teacher Candidates in ongoing professional reflective practice, inquiry, and collaboration. Teacher Candidates meet to share questions and reflections emerging from their professional practice, to engage in collaborative inquiry and problem solving, and to construct professional knowledge as a community of learners. This course is intentionally designed to bridge theory with the practical demands of teaching.

Successful candidate will be given course outline of assignment and topics to provide consistency across sections. Successful candidate will serve as the Faculty Advisor to provide consultation and support to Teacher Candidates during the practicum. They will conduct virtual check-ins during scheduled practicum.

PLS instructors will also liaise with the Placement Officer to resolve issues related to the practicum.

Successful candidate will work with the course lead and/or team in order to provide consistency across sections.

Qualifications – Required: Master’s degree in Education; Bachelor of Education; K – 10 teaching experience; Significant supervisory experience as an administrator with teachers in Ontario schools or in teacher education
