The Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) brings together our Cybersecurity, Fraud, Physical Security, and Resilience Planning capabilities to address the complex global security environment. It is a collaborative effort that enhances BMO’s ability to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from security threats. This position offers a unique learning opportunity from industry leaders, contributing to building a modern security model and protecting our customers and communities.

  • Customer Contact Centre role

Schedule: Weekends included, Day shift starts at 9 AM - 11 AM EST

Responsibilities include conducting investigations to identify, assess, decide, and report on activities indicating exposure to financial crimes. Ensuring threats and investigations are evaluated, documented, managed, and escalated according to SOPs. Providing expertise and oversight of criminal risk, following a disciplined and intelligence-based approach aligned with risk frameworks to ensure compliance and support trend analysis and insights.

  • Develops recommendations for process and customer service improvements.
  • Stays updated on financial crimes risk trends, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Monitors and analyzes information from detection systems and reports to evaluate and determine actions.
  • Supports evidence collection for incident reports, loss prevention, litigation, and process improvements.
  • Documents actions and maintains case files.
  • Maintains understanding of financial crime management processes and techniques.
  • Prepares reports and dashboards, analyzes data for insights and recommendations.
  • Executes routine tasks within service level agreements.
  • Provides notifications and instructions to stakeholders regarding incidents.
  • Handles escalations and complex tasks within rules/limits.
  • Analyzes issues and determines next steps.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements related to financial crimes is an asset.
  • Understanding of banking products, services, and processes is an asset.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Good organizational, collaboration, and analytical skills.

You must be fluent in French and English to support clients and team members inside and outside Quebec.

Salary:

$37,500.00 - $69,500.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

This range reflects BMO Financial Group’s pay structure. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include commissions.
