Job Description:

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts receivable transactions. This role involves managing customer invoicing, collections, and maintaining accurate records of payments and outstanding balances.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process and record incoming payments in a timely manner.
  2. Review and post customer payments to the appropriate accounts.
  3. Monitor accounts to identify overdue or outstanding invoices and initiate collections follow-up.
  4. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies between customer payments and invoices.
  5. Communicate with customers to address billing inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  6. Maintain accurate records of customer transactions, including payment history and credit balances.
  7. Assist in preparing AR reports for management.
  8. Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address billing issues or concerns.
  9. Support month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  2. 1-3 years’ experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
  3. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  4. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  8. Knowledge of customer service practices and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
