Job Responsibilities

  • Providing one-on-one support to children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and out in the community.
  • Assisting individuals with all aspects of daily living, medication administration, personal hygiene, life skills, and social skills development.
  • Participating in recreational opportunities and community outings.

Rate of Pay

Employees' rate of pay is dependent on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and position. Currently, TMS rates of pay are as follows: Awake front line $23.50 - $28.00; Asleep night attendant $19.00 - $22.50.

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • TMS provides a wide range of in-house training/support, so although experience and education are assets, they are not necessarily requirements. A Community Support Worker certificate is an asset but not a requirement; TMS is willing to provide on-the-job training to the right candidates.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong work ethic; employees should show up ready and willing to meet the standards outlined by our agency.
  • The ability to follow verbal and written instructions and adhere to policies and procedures as outlined.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Requirements

All employees must have valid CPR/First Aid upon hiring. All employees must have a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract with a clean driving record. A criminal record check/security clearance through the Solicitor General of BC/HUB clearance is also required.
