I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and model a Safety-First Culture by maintaining a safe working environment. Ensure all employees understand and follow safety and compliance rules. Correct hazardous conditions promptly and work toward eliminating injuries. Enforce industrial hygiene and environmental policies and programs.
  • Use strong leadership skills to set site-specific strategic goals and objectives, break down work, develop schedules, measure performance, and manage workload effectively.
  • Regularly evaluate site organization, productivity, KPIs, and team skills to meet evolving needs.
  • Review site trends and customer feedback to identify improvements and develop action plans. Incorporate regional trends from leadership into strategies.
  • Manage priorities and time effectively while holding team members accountable for outcomes.
  • Assess current and future skill requirements; ensure appropriate staffing through hiring, training, and development.
  • Establish mitigation plans for potential scenarios related to facilities, fleet, and resources; conduct drills and response exercises.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including maintenance logs, invoices, shipping documents, and employee certifications.
  • Proficiently use systems for timekeeping, reporting, and documentation (e.g., car counts, on-time spots, incident reports).
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment.
  • Perform business functions to ensure efficient, profitable operations within budget guidelines.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships by providing high-quality service and meeting set goals, including regular reporting (e.g., Quarterly Business Reviews).
  • Understand customer business and Marmon offerings; identify opportunities for new services or assets to support growth.
  • Encourage team ideas for continuous improvement, leverage data to drive change, and support LEAN initiatives.
  • Create an environment conducive to efficient and effective work processes.

15% of nights or weekends work may be required to manage on-site teams.

II. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with proficiency in math
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software applications
  • Proven safety performance and ability to meet safety requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred :

  • Experience in industrial settings
  • Experience in switch yards or handling dangerous goods
