Job description

Pharma Medica Research Inc. is a full-service contract research organization in need of a Meal Cook I to join our team in Scarborough!

The function of the Meal Cook I is to provide all necessary dietary requirements for clinic studies according to the study protocols and guidelines at Pharma Medica Research Inc. ( PMRI ). To perform the job quickly and efficiently while maintaining a clean and orderly manner throughout their shift. This position reports to the Executive Chef / or designate.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

1.Execute all aspects of dietary requirements for clinical studies.

2.Follow proper requirements to ensure consistent and uniformed meals.

3.Prepare menus and meals as required according to study protocol.

4.Maintain the kitchen in a proper and acceptable fashion according to health requirements.

5.Follow safety and sanitation procedures.

6.Follow cleaning procedures and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.

7.Perform defined work routines using various utensils, supplies and equipment.

8.Occasionally assist in serving meals to subjects.

9.Occasionally maintain the eating area throughout mealtime and clean up after subjects' meals.

10.Other duties as required.

Qualifications :

Minimum level of academic or formalized training and skills.

  • Food preparation certificate or equivalent is an asset.
  • Completion of a Food Handlers course is an additional asset.
  • Experience in the food industry or related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills including excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clinic staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge in computer usage and software applications.
