Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to drive business insights and develop metrics that support business growth. You will support customer and business insights, data modeling, QuickSight migration, ad-hoc reporting, and long-term analytical projects. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders and various data sources and technologies such as PowerBI, Quicksight, and SQL.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing metrics and business analytics, with the ability to incorporate new approaches and methodologies, and a strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, especially when dealing with ambiguity. Excellent communication skills are essential to understand business requirements and develop effective data solutions.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Create mechanisms for non-technical stakeholders to self-serve data.
  2. Identify opportunities to simplify and automate redundant processes.
  3. Facilitate request intake from the field to enhance reporting and operational support.
  4. Rationalize existing reports and develop new ones for central maintenance.
  5. Translate stakeholder requirements into technical requests for tech teams.
  6. Influence and drive project outputs independently, meet deadlines, and set clear expectations.
  7. Understand data flows within financial platforms and establish reliable data sources.
  8. Work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with incomplete data.
  9. Participate in hiring, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative team culture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects with measurable results.
  • MBA or CPA certification.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos).
  • Experience with financial systems like Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.
  • Proficiency in automation and analysis process improvements.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data mining and BI.
  • Ability to create reporting solutions in QuickSight.

The salary range for this position is $66,000 to $110,100 per year, based on experience and skills. Additional compensation such as equity and benefits may be offered.
