Job description

Shackleton Duke Ltd, in partnership with our client, a leading M&E Contractor with multiple offices and projects across Canada, is currently seeking a M&E Project Manager and a Lead M&E Project Coordinator to join their team in Vancouver, BC.

The positions are available due to company growth and upcoming project opportunities. The M&E Project Managers should have experience with ICI and P projects, respectively.

Position Description :

The role involves overseeing pre-construction, engineering, and field installation of all M&E systems within the business unit or region. The position reports to the Regional Operations Manager.

M&E Project Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

All duties relate to Mechanical and Electrical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Low Voltage, Fire Sprinkler):

  1. Leading, supervising, and developing all M&E staff, and managing subcontractors on site, while overseeing ICI projects from start to finish.
  2. Acting as the primary liaison, maintaining relationships with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner’s representatives.
  3. Managing pre-construction, procurement, budget, quality, safety, engineering, coordination, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and project close-out processes.
  4. Ensuring strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
Qualifications :

A Bachelor's degree and minimum years of experience with increasing responsibility in design, cost management, sequencing, logistics, and field installations of M&E systems, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to identify design features that impact costs and suggest cost-effective alternatives. Strong presentation skills for technical material. LEED accreditation is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is essential.

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

Physical Demands : Ability to climb stairs, use construction hoists, ladders, and navigate work areas under construction. Visual acuity includes close, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Manual dexterity for handling tools and objects. Ability to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
