Senior Data Analyst (Methodologist)
Department of Research, Monitoring & Evaluation

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Research, Monitoring & Evaluation (RME), the Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the development of data analytics, data management and related policies at NTI. The Senior Data Analyst will also provide support to the development of a Nunavut-specific Data Strategy in collaboration with territorial and national partners and collaborators, as well as participating in data related initiatives at a national level. The Senior Data Analyst, in partnership with the Nunavut Inuit Health Survey Steering Committee and the Qanuippitaa Nunavut Health Survey (QNIHS team) is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the QNIHS. The incumbent is responsible for data manipulation, statistical analyses, dissemination, and ensuring that the QNIHS team has efficient/effective access to research results. The incumbent will provide summaries and analytical products resulting from the survey. Additionally, the incumbent will provide technical and methodological support to other NTI research projects, as required.

To be invited for an interview; Undergraduate degree with a specialisation in statistics, or a similar highly quantitative discipline (e.g. data sciences, health sciences, social and economic sciences, etc.) Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. Good knowledge and understanding of the Nunavut Agreement, sensitive to local, political and cultural context in Nunavut. Solid understanding of developing documents/reports to support statistical and data analysis. Solid understanding of various data types, sampling methodologies, data systems. Strong understanding of legal, privacy and confidential requirements. Spoken and written Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun language is desirable or a strong willingness to learn is required.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $113,331.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
