Job description

Position Overview

Calian is seeking bilingual Avionics Course Instructors for our client, the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Training and Engineering. Successful candidates will be required to work onsite in Borden, ON.

Responsibilities
  • Provide curriculum for all training requirements.
  • Perform instructional duties in accordance with approved techniques, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and equipment.
  • Prepare, maintain, and revise lesson plans and student manuals per current guidelines.
  • Design and develop activities.
  • Assist the course director in advising students on performance and proctoring exams.
  • Create entries in the student registry for course reports and advising.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Civilian-Trained Personnel: (A or B)

  • A: Graduation from an Avionics Maintenance Technician program recognized by CCAA and three years of experience as an Avionics Maintenance Technician.
  • B: Graduation from a Transport Canada-recognized program as an Approved Training Organization and three years of experience as a registered Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (E rating).
  • At least one year of instructional experience in an adult education environment, plus additional support or instructional experience.

Canadian Forces-Trained Personnel:

  • Qualified AVS or QL 5 trade level; and
  • At least one year of instructional experience in an adult education environment, plus additional support or instructional experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to deliver courses in both official languages.
  • Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
