A leading company in Toronto is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to provide hands-on technical support and drive automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SRE practices, experience in production support, and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field. This role involves collaboration across teams to enhance system reliability and compliance.
Provide hands-on SRE technical support at the squad level, ensuring 24x7 support.
Drive transformation by continuously seeking automation opportunities for existing processes.
Track, audit, monitor, and implement technical work streams.
Act as a portfolio SME (Subject Matter Expert) — understand and document common components, core functionalities, and infrastructure of supported applications.
Serve as an escalation point in the on-call rotation, supporting maintenance, scheduled work, support, and release deployments.
Assist in incident and problem management for applications within scope, including RCA and action item ownership.
Focus on continuous improvement and adherence to technical standards — enhance productivity, monitoring, tooling, and best practices.
Manage technology currency (server patching, certificate renewal, compliance), with a focus on automation opportunities.
Drive industry-leading technical solutions tailored to client environment and needs, tracking and applying relevant solutions.
Leverage cross-team collaboration at unit, department, and enterprise levels to develop better solutions and foster a cross-enterprise mindset.
Contribute to SRE strategy development and roadmap creation.
